“Every two minutes, a woman dies in childbirth. And in sub-Saharan Africa, women are 136 times more likely to die than in developed countries.” is the reason why the USAID, the Government of Norway, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, and DFID have joined together to launch this project.

Giving its direct link to the theme of the MASCOT project, we would like to bring to your attention the possibility to apply for grants in order to build a community of innovators that propose interventions fort:

- Increase access to primary health care for women and newborns by at least 50%;
- Substantially improve the quality of care as measured by health outcomes; and
- Lead to improved and sustained healthy behavior.
